Fine Art at Great Prices
The 2008
Artists' Studio Sale together with the Artists' Equipment Sale will once
again give buyers an opportunity to own original works of art and art
supplies at bargain prices. The sale will be held Thursday through
Sunday, May 8, 9, 10 and 11 and again the following week, May 15, 16, 17
and 18 in the Old Courthouse Arts Center, 101 N. Johnson on the Square
in Woodstock, Illinois.
Arts
Center hours are Thursday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday
1 to 5 p.m.
Watercolor Workshop
May 23, 24 and 25
Donna
Jill Witty, award-winning watercolor artist , will present a three-day
Watercolor Workshop May 23, 24 and 25 at the Old Courthouse Arts Center
in Woodstock, Illinois. The workshop will include daily demonstrations
and discussion along with individual help and critique. Subjects will
include landscape techniques, textures, transparency, color and value.
The
workshop is limited to 16 students. Lunch is included in the $185

ROSSO Introduction & Celebration

Farm & Vineyard is pleased to announce the arrival of “Primo Rosso,”
(Italian for first red) the first wine produced from grapes grown in
their
Woodstock
vineyard. The
wine is a dry blended red, with overtones of black currant and cherry.
Primo Rosso will be introduced on Thursday, May 15th, 6:00 PM
to 8:00 PM at La Petite Creperie,
115 N. Johnson Street
on the
Woodstock Square

The event includes wine, appetizers and music by The Mike Alongi
Trio. The
price is $20.00 per person and you will also receive a 15% discount on
dinner (if you choose to stay.)

locally produced wine and local businesses!
Salute! Farm & Vineyard also grows a large variety of produce,
grown without chemical pesticides or fertilizer.
They offer these through their CSA (Community Supported
Agriculture) and the Woodstock Farmers’ Market.

"America's
Best Town Square" was the film location for the movie Groundhog
Day. Each year Woodstock celebrates "Groundhog Days"
with a series of special family and fun events including a walking tour
of film locations, dinner dances, movie showings, movie symposium and

Woodstock is serviced by Metra's Union Pacific/Northwest Line, Chicago to

the Latest About our Main Street Effort The
Woodstock Downtown Business Association’s (WDBA) efforts for downtown
revitalization have earned it recognition as an Associate of the
Illinois Main Street Program.
Lucia Matlock, President of the WDBA, received the designation on
behalf of the organization on Thursday, November 15th from
Illinois Lt. Governor Pat Quinn at the Annual Illinois Main Street
Conference held in Danville, IL.
Out of 26 communities that started the application process in
2007, the WDBA was one of only three organizations accepted into the
Illinois Main Street program this year.
The
Illinois Main Street program is a volunteer-driven, community and preservation-based,
