It's time for the "girls" to get together and have some fun! Read Between the Lynes, your hometown bookstore, located at 129 Van Buren Street on the historic downtown Woodstock square, will be holding a Teen Girls book club Friday January 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. The event will be hosted by Renee Rosen, author of the book club selection "Every Crooked Pot" and will be held at Jenapea's Sandwich shop (109 Van Buren Street) and will include pizza, dessert, and chatting with Renee! Donna Jill Witty, award-winning watercolor artist , will present a three-day Watercolor Workshop May 23, 24 and 25 at the Old Courthouse Arts Center in Woodstock, Illinois. The workshop will include daily demonstrations and discussion along with individual help and critique. Subjects will include landscape techniques, textures, transparency, color and value.

John Hegner Performs Free Concert on the historic Woodstock Square

Singer-songwriter-pianist, John Hegner, will perform at the CD release concert for his new album, “254,” on the bandstand in the park on the historic Woodstock Square.  Enjoy the CD signing party at Stage Left Cafe, 125 Van Buren Street, Woodstock, IL 60098, immediately following the concert. Suggested Donation of $5 to benefit  "Project: Stage Left Cafe Sound System."  In the event of rain, the performance will take place in Stage Left Cafe.  John Hegner's 11-song cd, "254," will be retailing for $15 that evening, and afterwards will be available at Jenapea's and Read Between the Lynes, Woodstock, Illinois.

How better to celebrate Woodstock's history as a historic market town?  A day long celebration featuring farmer's market, old-time craft demonstrations including weavers, spinners, quilters, blacksmithing, woodworking, children's activities and a fiddler's contest for youth and adults.  Top all of this off with the Fair on Square craft show featuring crafters from all over the Midwest.

Ladies Night Out
On the Woodstock Square and Main Street 5 to 10 p.m. Sponsored by the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & Industry as part of the Victorian Christmas celebration. There will be limousine rides providing transportation to restaurants and merchants. While supplies last, a free long-stem red rose will be handed out from gentlemen stationed around the square to honor women. Participating restaurants will be offering dinner and drink specials, entertainment, open houses and appetizers.
